Whomever has the sword, we actually have an advantage (though our characters may not realize it). Unicorns are immune to the decapitation effects of Vorpal swords.

Mantrap is a wild encounter. At first, I thought it was wildly overpowered with no escape DC, but realizing it can't attack after that really changes my mind. It's a pretty creative creature. Swallows someone and walks around with them. Love it.

Given players tend to lean towards the existing rotation, I say we keep it for now and consider monthly breaks when they make sense down the road.

FYI, I'm not wholly opposed to a pause on the longer running game. I could always free up time to take on a weekend game online with old friends, which isn't something I've had time to do in the past. It isn't my first choice, but it also wouldn't be the end of the world.

I suspect there's a structural component here. With each game averaging 3.5 hours per month, there's not a ton of incentive for side quests. Mechanically, it works like it has in session. Once per day, he asks a question and gets an answer that tends to embrace some prophecy-style vagaries. It has showed limits to its knowledge, but I don't think y'all have made an effort to scope them.
