The party ended the long rest with Eclipse sent out in eagle form to scout the road ahead. We told he 'report on any activity *AND* any road blocks.' See? We can learn from our mistakes... Eclipse came back with report of a grizzly bear and a pack of boar eating what was left of a party.

Mercy joined Eclipse on talking to the animals, and Mr Grizzly turned out to be an elf druid. We learned that the treaty between Chauntae (goddess of agriculture) and Malar (the druid's god of savagery) has been broken. Chauntae must have turned to evil ways, since the agriculture has withered and died. And so many of the humanoids and diseased and taste funny, so Mr Grizzly and friends are feasting on this remains of this party. Eclipse and Mercy wanted to examine the bodies, but it was more important to not threaten the feasters. In fact, Eclipse cemented that by trading a dragon skull ("to gnaw on") for the right of passage through this area.

The party wound up going inland around the feast so as not to disturb them. On getting back to the road, Mercy looked closely for tracks and noted that the party had apparently come out of Daggerford. (Party consisted of a human in Daggerford livery, two Zentarum, and about 15 hobgoblins.) Additional clawed tracks were found going to the local town. Mercy was able to figure out these were made by undead - or skeleton claws at least. So the party decided that the local town was probably under the control of numerous undead and left it alone.

As the party got closer to Daggerford, the scale of the problem of entry became apparent:
- barricades on the road
- a sea of tents outside the city with hobgoblins on our side, orcs on the other. No lizardmen visible but we didn't check the river.
- guards on the walls of Daggerford itself

Sedon tried to scrye on Sirse. He got to see a mid-50s,tall, dark-haired woman, regal, in fine noble dress while she strode across a courtroom. He saw guards in Daggerford tunics. He saw a very large orc in decorative plate, bored. The woman placed her hand on another woman with green skin and hair in limestone colored knightly armor; she looked directly at orb and it dissipated. Sedon then asked his book who would be an ally for us in Daggerford. He was told "The spy in the cell" (Astra), "the fallen lady, the priest of wheat, the child of slime, the daughter" (Arabel). Apparently most of this was comprehensible to Sedon.

After a recon flight, the party decided to go see the priest of wheat. Amaroth cast invisibility, Sedon cast fly, and Eclipse is a mouse in Amaroth's pocket. Fuma and Mercy will try not to get into trouble while they are gone.
