Party Makeup

Postby Veracity » Tue Oct 27, 2020 10:21 am

Yoshi:
I am interested in creating a Barbarian for this campaign. What are other folks thinking about?

Hazen:
Leaning toward a Cleric.

Brianna:
"Perhaps a Female Elf Wizard or Sorcerer? Been a long time since I played a straight magic-user."

Mercy
is working with the DM on a PC who might already be on the ship when you arrive = therefore in a position to fill you in on some unique details of the world.

Seston:
It remains to be seen if I can really maintain the schedule of playing every Thursday, but if it works out over the next month or so, I'd be interested.

Can you add a post with the details of generating characters (what races are allowed) and tools we'll be using including links to them? Are we downloading these applications or running them from a website? I believe much of this info is already been put in other posts or emails, but it'd be useful to have it all in an introductory post that could be pinned at the top.

I am finding DDB both extremely helpful and annoying.

It takes care of a lot of the calculations. It is annoying because it wants to charge you for any good stuff you want to use. I built a sorceress and was not allowed the spells I wanted at first level unless I paid for them. I am playing a certain race but I could not add it unless I paid for it. I am currently exploring a bard, but the only colleges allowed are the vanilla ones and if I want the others I have to buy them. That gets constraining and annoying pretty fast.

That is a surprise to me. See email with link to join campaign and what to turn on. Then look again.

If spells and such are missing and I can buy them for the group, I will.

My first character was created and joined the campaign well after. It didn't have all the spells/features/races available
My second character was created after I'd joined and seems to have access to everything the DM has signed up for.

So all good I guess

Toying with the details still, but I've added a Rogue (Inquisitive) to the mix. They're a female presenting Aasimar. More the reserved detective mode of rogue than Baggins or Gray Mouser. At least, on the surface.

I tend to alternate male and female. Excepting the barbarian, this party is all female or female presenting. That might present challanges in ways we never expected. :-) Since everyone has real characters there now, I've removed my extra.

Not the barbarian, the cleric

Getting to see the starting point of all the charcaters, I did some spreadsheet things because that's what engineers do.

On average, Atmos is most likely to have the high skill score
The party as a whole has the highest skills (in order) in pursuade, deception, perception
The party as whole has the worst skills (in order) in arcana, history, nature
If Bastia fails investigation, the rest of the party isn't going to be much help.

Average AC is 14.6, Average hit points in 23.0

Atmohs - Protector Aasimar Cleric (they/them) of the Tempest Domain, Sailor background wielding trident with either net or shield (or longbow). Wears Half Plate armor when on land.

Note if you looked at them yesterday, I did rework the stats a bit.

I expect the stats to be reworked until we start. My comments reflect a point of time.
An I don't expect to be looking to update that anytime soon. :-)
